A dental bridge is a fixed, non-removable, appliance used to replace missing teeth. Crowns are placed on either side of a missing space and a replacement tooth is bridged to those crowns.
Bridges used to be a the best alternative to a replace a missing tooth. In the age of implants, bridges are used less frequently because the teeth on either side to not need to be prepared, thus saving them from crownwork.
